“The financial services company [Alexander Forbes] is one of the largest employers of actuaries in South Africa. It has more than 50 actuaries in this country and more than 150 in total in the group.”
“One recruitment specialist, who did not wish to be identified because it works closely with companies like Alexander Forbes, said it had facilitated the placement of about 20 Alexander Forbes actuaries in the last 18 months.
But Walker said the number of resignations from the company was “much lower” than this.
At a rough count, about 12 have resigned in the last two years, he said.”
